Up and Down

The beginning of April started out good. I had a good number of sales. But, the second part of April hasn't been so good. Maybe it's spring break? Maybe people are busy with Easter? It's definitely been slower. I'm okay with that though. I know it's a roller-coaster ride.

It wouldn't be so bad if I could break my habit of checking KDP or Pubit 3-4 times a day. I'm obsessed with clicking on the link to see if any more sales popped up. It's hard to stay away from that, when I'm already on the computer writing, editing, or promoting. It's sooooo easy to just open another tab and click on the bookmark.

Sigh.

I'm trying to focus on editing the rest of my 4th book. I might have another scene or two to add before sending it off for reviews. FOCUS - Talia - FOCUS!

  1. Good luck, Talia! If your urge to check PubIt is anything like my urge to check my email for agent responses, then I DEFINITELY know what you're going through! (Starting to get cramped fingers and strained eyes...) :)

  2. Hi Talia!
I found your blog via Book blogs. I'm now following. I too have children that prevent me from writing as much as I'd like. And, (more importantly) I'm more than half finished with my 4th book! Karma!
I'm off to check out your first three.
Please, if you need a break from typing, check out my blog (one of the many)

    (I also do reviews... :)

  3. LisaAnn - Yes... finger cramps and strained eyes... definite sign of email or sales checking addiction.

Elise - Only two are for sale right now :) I'm hoping to have the third out in a week or two and the fourth in about a month.
I will definitely check out your blog after the kids go to bed.

  5. I'm still so new into this, my sales are always slow. I was delighted to log on to KDP and find a third sale of TMD. ;) The other stuff outside writing is a little less friendly than that, so I'm trying to bear in mind (like you said) that it's a roller coaster. Right now the nose is pointed down, but there's only so much "down" before "level" or "up" are the only ways to go.

  6. I'm addicted to checking my Amazon sales too. I convinced myself it's not such a bad habit. It doesn't cost me anything, isn't bad for my health and doesn't take up much time. Lol. Good luck with finishing the next book. I'm trying to focus on finishing my next one too but checking my Amazon sales and ranking is so much more fun right now. :)

  7. Thanks Che!

Deb - Very true. It's just once you're up and then you go down, it's more depressing.

CJ - True... it is a free, healthy addiction :)
