When The Hell Is This Baby Going To Be Here?

Yes, I know technically it's not past my due date - but it's only 2 days away. TWO days! And yes, I know that only 5% of pregnant moms actually give birth on their due date. But, about 80% give birth around this time. Why can't I be one of those moms that gets lucky and has the baby a couple days "early"?

I am one of those people who do not agree with elective inductions. Although, right now, I wish I was. I wish I could walk into the doctor's office and say "I'm done! Get it out!" and they'd wheel me into a delivery room and I'd have the baby.

But, no. I am one of those people who believe in giving birth when my body is ready or when the baby is ready. I don't want interventions. I don't want to be in the hospital. So, I have to wait.

However, I do believe in natural inductions. If I could get my labor started by nipple stimulation or running up and down the stairs, then I'm all for it.

This is my 12th pregnancy and 6th child I've brought to term. Two of my babies went to 42 weeks, one went to 41 weeks. I am ready to be done. Please, baby, please be ready too!!! I was so hoping that since this baby was a boy that maybe he'd be nice to his mama and come out on time. Everyone keeps telling me boys are different.

I do know that there are many people out there who would love to be in my shoes. I know how many people can't have kids. I spent over a year trying to get pregnant for one of my children. I've also had 6 miscarriages, so I know how precious being pregnant is. I try not to complain, but at this point, it's all I find myself doing.

-My legs are covered in varicose veins - they throb and hurt.
-My feet are swollen.
-The area near the top of my right leg and body goes numb or feels on fire 90% of the time.
-My BMs are all messed up (Yup, I'm talking BMs).
-I'm nauseous.
-My back hurts.
-My cervix hurts - this IS possible!
-I pee all the time. And I don't mean just every hour, sometimes it's every 10 minutes. Last night, I literally went pee, got in bed, got comfortable and had to pee again - less than 10 minutes later. I got back up, went to the bathroom and about 10 minutes later, it happened again. This continued for a couple of hours.
-I can't sleep.
-I can't get comfortable.
-I can't eat much. I'm hungry, but after about 1/4 of a portion, I'm full.

I'm sure there's more.

About a week ago, I started Operation Eviction. I feel like I've tried everything - BUT Castor Oil. I haven't gone down to that level yet - YUCK! Nothing natural seems to work for me.

-Nipple stimulation.
-Rubbing labor oils on my feet, tummy, and back.
-Walking.
-Getting on the birth ball.
-Running up and down the stairs.
-Taking warm, relaxing baths.
-Sex.
-Orgasms.
-Evening Primrose Oil.
-Nature's Sunshine 5W.
-Begging and praying.
-Spicy food.
-Bumpy rides.
-Visualizing.
-Enemas.

This kid wants to stay in and until my midwife isn't comfortable anymore, I guess I'll have to be okay with it.

  1. Good Luck! I went late on my first. Had to have an Emergency c-section, not fun. Then just went ahead and had a c-section for my next 2 kids. I was so not doing 14 hours of mild labor, 4 hours of hardcore in your face labor to be cut open again. Nope I needed less stress.
